← Make your own SOUL

DATA PACK GENERATOR

Make as many SOULs as you like: a name, a colour, a place on the ring, quirks and a sound for each. Then download the pack and put it in a world. It's all made here, and kept in this browser until you come back; a copy of each pack you download is kept on smply.gg too (only the pack itself: nothing about you).

YOUR SOULS

    MAKE YOUR SOUL

    * required: every SOUL needs these; the rest are optional.

    NAME*

    DESCRIPTION

The line under its name on the ring in character creation (the file's passive). Only words: what it can do comes from its quirks.

    COLOUR*

    PLACE ON THE RING*

Where it lands in character creation:

    QUIRKS

      SOUND

      MORE

Off: kept out of character creation and Random, for a SOUL that comes some other way (admins can still give it).

Only matters when two packs have a SOUL with the same id: the higher one is used.

      MP3 TO OGG

Minecraft plays Ogg Vorbis only. Turn any sound (MP3, WAV, FLAC, Opus…) into one, for this pack or any other: it's converted in your browser, nothing is uploaded. (Sounds dropped on a SOUL are converted for you.)

Mono is what Minecraft wants for most sounds (only mono sounds come from where they are in the world).

      WHAT YOU GET

      THE FULL PACK

Everything in one file: the SOULs and their sounds, a data pack and a resource pack at once. Minecraft takes the part it needs wherever the file is put, so it goes in two places:

      • Singleplayer: the world's datapacks folder (or Data Packs when you make the world), and Resource Packs in Options.
      • A server: the server world's datapacks folder; each player adds it as a resource pack, or the server hands it out as its own.

Best for: most people. Singleplayer, a world with friends, or a server whose players all get its resource pack: one file to keep track of.

      ONLY THE DATA PACK

The SOULs alone: their names, colours, places on the ring and quirks. It goes where the world is: its datapacks folder, on the server for multiplayer. Players need nothing for it, but without the sound pack the SOULs' own sounds don't play.

Best for: SOULs without sounds, or a server where players shouldn't have to install anything (the sounds are the only part they'd miss).

      ONLY THE SOUND PACK

The sounds alone, as a resource pack: it goes on each player's side, in resourcepacks (or as the server's resource pack). Only there once a SOUL has a sound, and only does anything with the data pack in the world.

Best for: a server that runs the data pack and sends players the sounds apart, or adding the sounds into a resource pack you already have.
